Trichomanes proliferum has two varieties in South India viz., var. minutum and var. proliferum . The var. proliferum is distributed in India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, throughout Malesia to north-east Australia and Polynesia (Croxall, 1975). It is a common species of South India. It is commonly growing as dense mats on boulders in the streams and in densely shaded areas of evergreen forests. |
